MentorTech Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund that invests in information technology, marketing technology and medical device companies with a primary focus on those companies originating at the University of Pennsylvania.

MentorTech Ventures plays an active role with its investments from start-up to exit. Our team has been helping technology companies reach their growth potential for over twenty-five years.

We aim to bridge the widening gap between “friend and family” seed capital and the institutional round of funding.  We often play a role of catalyst and lead the first professional round of investment.  We seek significant and influential ownership stakes allowing us to act as true partners with entrepreneurs and founders.

Our preference is to invest in companies that have a proven product or service and have significant intellectual property developed.  We favor companies that can co-locate with us or are located in close geographic proximity as we greatly believe in “hands on” investing.

We selectively “co-invest” outside Philadelphia area in early stage and growth stage companies with leading venture capital funds in situations where we can add value.

As investors and former entrepreneurs, we know how to “do the right things” for company traction in the marketplace and how to attract follow on funding or an exit. We have expertise in aligning and refining business models, strengthening management teams, advancing key customer accounts, and assisting in major strategic relationships, partnerships and channel sales.
